Head of Sakpatenti Economics Department on a Working Visit to China

Mr. Levan Kereselidze, Head of the Economics
Department of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia –
“Sakpatenti”, participated in the International Workshop held in Qingdao, the
People’s Republic of China.
The 2026 International Workshop was organized by
the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and it brought
together representatives from various countries.
The main topic of the meeting was familiarization
with local practices of intellectual property protection in
China. The agenda included theoretical as well as practical sessions, during
which the participants got acquainted with the experience of the host
country in the fields of intellectual property protection, use
and public services.
Within the workshop, thematic sessions were held
on important topics such as public intellectual property services, use and
commercialization of intellectual property, IP protection in electronic
commerce and protection and promotion of local geographical
indications.
Along with this, the “Country Report” format
meeting was held, during which the participants discussed the ongoing processes
and achievements in the intellectual property field in their countries. The
agenda also covered field visits, including to the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization (SCO) Local Economic and Trade Cooperation
Demonstration Area, where the participants had an opportunity to get
acquainted onsite with the practical examples of IP management.
The meeting aimed to deepen
international cooperation and share experience in the intellectual property
field, which is an important prerequisite for strengthening the institutional
capacities of the countries.
Representatives of various
countries and organizations, such as: Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Uruguay, Hungary,
Mexico, Morocco, Moldova, Serbia and Tajikistan, the African Regional
Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), the African Intellectual Property
Organization (OAPI) and the Secretariat of the Association of Southeast Asian
Nations (ASEAN), participated in the workshop.
