Workshop on Internet Service Provider (ISP) Liability

On 26 of July, within the framework of TAIEX, a meeting was held on “Internet Service Provider (ISP) Liability”, which was organized by EU Delegation to Georgia and the National Intellectual Property Center Sakpatenti . The meeting was attended by the representatives of the private and public sector who got familiar with the EU law, approaches and experience on “Internet Service Provider (ISP) Liability”. During the meeting the existing problems of IPR infringement and legal mechanisms of copyright enforcement have been discussed. Based on the practical cases internet piracy mechanisms and Internet Service Provider (ISP) Liability was outlined.
On the meeting presentations have been presented by the representatives of Sakpatenti and the Hungarian Copyright Council.
Development of an effective system of Internet Service Providers Liability is one of the obligations under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the European Union (DCFTA).
