Sakpatenti Donated a Painting by Dima Antadze to the Zviad Gamsakhurdia Presidential Center
October 01, 2026

Sakpatenti
handed over the painting “Tortoise” by Dimitri (Dima) Antadze to the LEPL Union
of Palaces and Museums of Georgia. The artwork, which was previously displayed
at Sakpatenti Head Office, will now be housed at the Zviad Gamsakhurdia
Presidential Center in Zugdidi. Displaying the painting in the
exhibition-museum space aims to make the artwork accessible to a wider audience
and increase public access to it.
The
museum hall of the Centre regularly hosts temporary and permanent exhibitions.
The exhibitions held here attract numerous visitors and enjoy great interest
and appreciation from the general public. Hence, displaying Dima Antadze’s work
at the Zviad Gamsakhurdia Presidential Center will take on new cultural
significance. Mr. Giorgi Kalandia, Director of the Union of Palaces and Museums
of Georgia, expressed gratitude to Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti,
for the donation of the painting and noted that, along with making artworks
accessible to the public, it is important to popularize the country’s cultural
heritage, raise awareness of artists and support them.
The
Zviad Gamsakhurdia Presidential Center was opened in January this year in
Zugdidi, on the territory adjacent to the Dadiani Palace. This is a modern,
multifunctional building which houses a media library, work, lecture and
conference rooms, reading and exhibition-museum halls.
It is
noteworthy that the Centre also hosted the presentation of the second part of
the journal “Georgian Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications”,
during which the Sakpatenti Chairman handed over the painting by Dima Antadze
to the Centre.
