Georgian Lawyers are Familiarizing with the US Experience

Today, on July 14, the Workshop on Adjudication of Civil Intellectual Property Infringement Cases opened in Kobuleti with the participation of Georgian judges. The workshop is organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the United States Embassy in Georgia and the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti.
During three days, American judges will introduce to their Georgian colleagues the US judicial practice on disputes related to intellectual property subject-matters. The decisions made by the Chamber of Appeals of Sakpatenti and courts of Georgia will also be discussed and the opinion of the US judges will be heard concerning these decisions.
Sharing experience of the Unites States of America, as a leading country with rich experience in intellectual property protection, will facilitate and assist Georgian judges to implement the intellectual property legislation of Georgia according to international standards.
The workshop is organized in cooperation with the High School of Justice and the Georgian Copyright Association.
