Sakpatenti will Host Finalists of the Millennium Innovation Competition

On February 12, 2016, the final round of the Millennium Innovation Competition was organized by the Millennium Challenge Foundation, during which winning teams of the competition were revealed. The first place was occupied by team Solar for the project “Innovative Technology for Increasing the Coefficient of Efficiency of a Solar Panel”. The winning team will take part in the Conrad Spirit Innovation Challenge Summit, to be held at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, on April 20-24, 2016.
The second and the third positions of the Millennium Innovation Competition were occupied by teams of Komarov Public School No 199. The team on the third position with the project “Membrane Kinematic Paired Original Dispersive Construction Design” was awarded by Deputy Chairperson of Sakpatenti Mrs. Sophio Mujiri a special prize of Sakpatenti – a portable computer Lenovo. In near future the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia will host all the finalists of the competition at Sakpatenti Office, where the presentation will be held on the topic “From an Idea to Intellectual Property Protection”. The finalists will familiarize with Sakpatenti activities, mechanisms of preliminary search of the object under study and will observe the process of patent examination on the spot. The received information will assist them in developing and implementing new projects.
The Millennium Innovation Competition project, which was funded by the US State Department, serves to popularize innovation and natural science education among the youth, to promote implementation of innovative ideas and projects, facilitates development of innovation and technology in the country and new achievements in this direction.
