WIPO General Course on Intellectual Property (DL-101) will become Available in the Georgian Language as well

On March 15-17, 2017, within the Sakpatent/WIPO joint project, the Training on Customizing and Tutoring the WIPO Academy General Course on IP (DL-101) was held for trainers of Sakpatenti Training Centre.
The training was aimed at introducing to Georgian trainers methodologies of customization and teaching DL-101 course. In particular, the invited expert discussed with the participants aspects of determination of the course objectives and customization of the topics, taking into account the peculiarities of the Georgian legislation and practice. Training was also offered for Georgian trainers on teaching DL-101 course. In case of good academic progress they will be handed over WIPO accredited trainer certificates, which will authorize them to teach this course in Georgia on the WIPO Academy platform.
After elaboration of the Georgian version of the WIPO Academy General Course on IP DL-101 this course will be published on WIPO Academy platform and any interested party will be able to pass the course in the Georgian language free of charge.
The above-mentioned course, in a pilot mode, within another WIPO Project “IP4Kids” (Intellectual Property for Kids), will be offered to school teachers. The Project envisages training of teachers in intellectual property in order to enable them to teach the IP curriculum and materials drafted by WIPO at schools.
In future, similar to this Project, preparation of the Georgian versions of WIPO Academy specialized distance learning courses on various intellectual property subject-matters (trademarks, copyright, inventions, etc.) is also planned.
