
School of Law and Imitated Trial in Intellectual Property Law
On June 2-4, 2017, Intellectual Property Law School took place in Borjomi, which was organized by Sakpatenti and European Law Students Association, with the financial support of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce. During the event, Sakpatenti representatives introduced to the best students of the Faculty of Law of various universities of Georgia intellectual property subject-maters, legal aspects of protection of these subject-matters and mechanisms for enforcement of IP rights.

Sakpatenti joins ePCT platform
Starting from June 1, 2017 nationals and residents of Georgia will have the possibility to file international patent applications (PCT applications) at Sakpatenti online using ePCT platform. Sakpatenti as a Receiving Office (RO) of the PCT system has already joined said platform.

Sakpatenti Concluded a Memorandum with Darts ip
Since May 24, 2017 the Global IP Case Law Database Darts ip has become available to Sakpatenti examiners. Sakpatenti and Darts ip signed a memorandum for five years within the Annual Meeting of International Trademark Association (INTA), held in Barcelona.
Information Day for Small and Medium Enterprises
Today, on May 11, 2017, Sakpatenti top officials are holding an information meeting with representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The aim of the meeting is to assist entrepreneurs in drafting an IP strategy and its management, which will facilitate increasing competitiveness of Georgian companies and creating their economic value.

Sakpatenti at Employment and Internship Forum
Today, on May 5, 2017, the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti, together with 50 private and public organizations, is participating in the annual employment and internship forum, organized by San Diego State University (SDSU-Georgia) and Millennium Challenge Foundation-Georgia (MCA-Georgia). Sakpatenti representatives are meeting with successful students of San Diego State University at Radisson Hotel and are introducing education and internship prospects at Sakpatenti.

Preliminary Decision on “Nabeghlavi” Has been Taken in China
The State Administration for Industry and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (SAIC) has taken a preliminary decision on registration of appellation of origin of Georgia mineral water “Nabeghlavi”.
Special lessons conducted on the theme - Intellectual Property
On an occasion of April 26 - the World Intellectual Property Day - special lessons are delivered to up to 2000 elementary grade pupils of public schools throughout Georgia. The objective of the lessons is to raise awareness on the essence and importance of intellectual property rights.

Training “Innovation – Improving Lives”
April 26 is the World Intellectual Property Day, which every year is dedicated to a particular topic. By the decision of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) the topic of the World IP Day in 2017 is innovations, and it is celebrated with the slogan: “Innovation – Improving Lives”.

Meeting Between Sakpatenti and the Georgian Bar Association
On April 12, 2017, a meeting was held at Sakpatenti Tbilisi office within the framework of existed cooperation between Sakpatenti and the Georgian Bar Association. At the meeting Sakpatenti Chairman Nikoloz Gogilidze introduced to the Association members planned amendments to be made to the “Trademark Law” of Georgia. The meeting took place in an interactive mode and aimed to hear lawyers opinions regarding the amendments.
