Within the 66th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, met with Mr. Yerlan Sarsembayev, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the 66th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Mr. António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), held a business lunch and hosted Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, and Ms. Nino Chikovani, Deputy Chairperson, along with other honourable guests. The event was intended for the heads of the Intellectual Property Offices of the partner countries with which the EPO has signed an Agreement on Validation of European Patents

Sakpatenti Participated in the Second Session of the Joint Commission on Free Trade Agreement between the Governments of Georgia and China
The Second Session of the Joint Commission on Free Trade Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China was held in Beijing. Ms. Darejan Mtchedlidze, Head of the Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design of Sakpatenti, participated in the Commission sessio.
The Summer Camp “Intellectual Property and Innovations” was held in Mtskheta
A 5-day summer camp “Intellectual Property and Innovations” was held in the village of Misaktsieli, Mtskheta Municipality. The event was organized by: the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, the Municipal Department for Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Tbilisi City Hall and N(N)LE “Tbilisi Sports and Youth Center”. 37 winners of the National Educational Olympiad, aged 15-18, participated in the event.

The Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee of the Parliament of Georgia Supported the Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design”
The Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee reviewed and supported the draft Law of Georgia on Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design”. The draft amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design”, prepared by Sakpatenti, will improve the mechanisms of legal protection of designs in Georgia and will ensure further approximation with the EU legislation in the field of design protection.
Mr. Soso Giorgadze Attended the Graduation Event of Batumi Kindergartens School-age Pupils
A large-scale graduation event of school-age pupils of municipal kindergartens was held at Batumi Central Stadium, which was attended by 2755 school-age children, their parents and teachers. The ceremony was organized by Batumi Kindergartens Union
Sakpatenti is a Supporter of the Bolnisi Protected Designation of Origin Wine Festival
Sakpatenti participated in the Bolnisi Protected Designation of Origin Wine Festival, which took place for the third time with the slogan “Bolnisi – the Town of Golden Wine”. At the festival, more than 60 wineries from different regions of Georgia were represented, including wines of appellations of origin of large producers, small and medium-sized enterprises and family-owned wineries. The festival aims to popularize wines marked with appellations of origin, demonstrate the advantages of wines having this status and raise public awareness about them.
Sakpatenti Participated in Entrepreneurship Education Conference
Ms. Salome Tsimakuridze, Head of Administration Department of National intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, participated in the Entrepreneurship Education Conference Junior Achievement Georgia. The conference was held within the project “Building Back Better Through Social Entrepreneurship”, implemented with the support of the European Union.
