The courses are designed for a broad audience, including students, legal professionals, patent attorneys, innovators, researchers, and public sector representatives, including judges. They are open to anyone interested, with no prior requirements.
This initiative enhances access to intellectual property knowledge in Georgia and supports professional development, contributing to the strengthening of the country’s innovation ecosystem.
It has been implemented wihtin the 2025–2026 bilateral cooperation work plan between the EPO and Sakpatenti, with the aim of facilitating the effective integration of the European patent system and supporting the validation framework in Georgia.
Notably, the Validation Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the European Patent Organisation, signed on October 31, 2019, entered into force on January 15, 2024. This agreement marks an important step towards institutional and legal approximation.
