
World Intellectual Property Day was Celebrated at Tbilisi Public School №122
Pupils of Tbilisi Public School № 122 creatively expressed the knowledge received at intellectual property lessons and held an exhibition on occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day. During the event pupils presented works protected by copyright, inventions, design samples and trademarks. This was the final stage of one of the components of the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) - “Creativity and Intellectual Property in Georgian Schools”.
Sakpatenti is Working on the Strategy Document Which will be the First in the History of the Existence of the Center
The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti in a few months will present to the public the four-year institutional level development strategy. The work on the document is being implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme Governance Reform Fund (UNDP-GRF) and its structure will be based on the “Rule for Elaboration, Monitoring and Evaluation of Policy Documents” approved by Government’s Resolution.

Sakpatenti and GTU will Implement Joint Measures for Promotion Inventive Activities
Sakpatenti and Georgian Technical University (GTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, aimed to implement joint educational programswithin the framework of institutional cooperation, directed towards promotion of innovations and technologies in the intellectual property protection field as well as facilitation of professional development of students and training of qualified specialists. The Memorandum was signed today by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Mr. David Gurgenidze, GTU Rector.

On the World Intellectual Property Day, pupils of Gori Public School № 12 presented the results of their intellectual work – work protected by copyright, inventions, design samples and trademarks. The event was the final stage of one of the components of the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP) - “Creativity and Intellectual Property in Georgian Schools”, aimed to facilitate integration of intellectual property into the basic education system.
After Passing DL101GE Course it will be Possible for TSU Students to Receive Relevant ECTS credits
To introduce activities aimed at professional development and deepening the knowledge of students in the field of Intellectual property, Sakpatenti and Tbilisi State University (TSU) renewed the Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Mr. Giorgi Sharvashidze, TSU Rector. The Memorandum provides possibility to grant relevant ECTS credits after passing the General Course on Intellectual Property (DL101GE), which will facilitate raising awareness in this field, promotion of the course and increasing the number of professionals of this field in the future.

In elaborating the Institutional Strategy Document of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti for 2021-2024, the Center is assisted by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). To discuss the ongoing project and future cooperation, Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman met with Ms. Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia.
By the Decision of Sakpatenti, All Outstanding Graduates of DL101GE will take part in WIPO Advanced Course Free of Charge
Outstanding graduates of the fall session of the “General Course on Intellectual Property” (DL101GE) were hosted at Sakpatenti. The joint certificates of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti were handed over to the participants in solemn ceremony by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, and Ms. Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia.

Sakpatenti Works on Conclusion of an Agreement on Cooperation with Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba and Rakuten
Sakpatenti plans to conclude an agreement on cooperation with Amazon, Ebay, Alibaba and Rakuten within the EU funded Twinning Project on “Establishing Efficient Protection and Control System of Geographical Indications (GIs) in Georgia” (GE/16 ENI EC 0318). The above-mentioned issue was discussed during the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Project, held on March 30, 2021.

Georgian Tangerine and Georgian Hazelnut – Sakpatenti Starts Working for Registration of Two New Geographical Indications
Within the EU funded Twinning Project on “Establishing Efficient Protection and Control System of Geographical Indications (GIs) in Georgia” (GE/16 ENI EC 0318), Sakpatenti starts working for registration of two new geographical indications. The issue was discussed on the 7th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Project, held on March 30, 2021.
