“Ninotsminda Honey” - a New Geographical Indication
After “Tenili”, “Meskhetian Chechili”, “Borjomi”, “Mitarbi” and “Akhalkalaki Potato”, a new geographical indication - “Ninotsminda Honey” from Samtskhe-Javakheti region was added to the State Registry of Geographical Indications. This means that the specific quality, features and reputation of this produc due to the geographical environment and human factors characteristic of Samtskhe-Javakheti region, are recognized on the state level.

Intellectual Property at Schools of Georgia will Train Teachers within EUGIPP
To develop relevant skills for teaching creativity and intellectual property concepts, 12 teachers of 6 public schools of Tbilisi, Rustavi and Gori will pass training within the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP).

Mr. Mindia Davitadze Delivered a Statement on Behalf of Georgia at the WIPO General Assembly
The 61st Series of meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is taking place in the hybrid mode this year. The delegation of Georgia, headed by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, is participating in the event remotely. Mr. Mindia Davitadze delivered a statement addressing Mr. Daren Tang, Director General-Elect of WIPO, Mr. Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO, and delegations of the 193 member states of WIPO.

Trademark and Design Practice Papers - Sakpatenti Organizes a Seminar for Interested Parties
Today, patent attorneys, lawyers working in the intellectual property field and Sakpatenti staff members are familiarizing with the Practice Papers published by Sakpatenti. The main purpose of the seminar, organized within the EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP), is to increase transparency, legal certainty and predictability for applicants, examiners and any other interested parties regarding examination of trademark and design applications. The event was opened by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, and Mr. Catalin German, Deputy Head of Cooperation Section at the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia.
“Increase of the Number of Field Experts Conditions Greatly the Country’s Effective Intellectual Property System Formation” - Mindia Davitadze
The “General Course on Intellectual Property” (DL 101GE) was customized and translated into the Georgian language through cooperation of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti. Currently, the Georgian course has up to 500 graduates. Sakpatenti Chairman hosted the students who received the highest scores during the Spring Session and handed over to them certificates of the WIPO Academy in solemn ceremony. Mr. Mindia Davitadze familiarized the students with the decision of the Office concerning financing for them the WIPO Academy advanced level training course (DL 302).

The Chacha Festival Scale will Increase From the Next Year – Sakpatenti and the Georgian Chamber of Culture Signed a Memorandum of Understanding
