Sakpatenti has Registered “Tequila” Trademark as a Collective Mark in Georgia
Today, on February 11, 2020, Mr. Miguel Angel Domínguez Morales, President of the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), paying an official visit to Georgia, was handed over the certificate of registration of “Tequila” as a collective mark at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia SAKPATENTI. The visit of the delegation of the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), aimed to popularize Tequila on the Georgian market as well as to facilitate the export of Georgian wine to the Mexican market and to cooperate in this direction, continues for two days.

Free of Charge, Georgian-language General IP Course – Registration has Opened
In the framework of cooperation of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the LEPL National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia SAKPATENTI, the WIPO Academy Distance Learning Course - General Course on Intellectual Property (DL101GE) has become available in the Georgian language, free of charge. The course is open for any person interested in the intellectual property rights.
European Union-Georgia Joint Project on Intellectual Property (EUGIPP)
Today, on February 3, 2020, to initiate elaboration of the first year Action Plan of the European Union-funded project - European Union-Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP), the Project Leader - Mr. Ibon Ormazabal, representative of the European Union Intellectual Property Office’s (EUIPO) Department of International Cooperation and Legal Affairs, paid a working visit to Georgia.
Sakpatenti Protected Georgian Appellations of Origin: “Vazisubani”, “Napareuli”, “Gurjaani”, “Manavi”, “Teliani”, “Kvareli” and “Kakheti” in the Russian Federation
The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia SAKPATENTI has registered seven Georgian appellations of origin: “Vazisubani”, “Napareuli”, “Gurjaani”, “Manavi”, “Teliani”, “Kvareli” and “Kakheti” at the Federal Service for Intellectual Property of the Russian Federation (ROSPATENT). Last August, Sakpatenti applied to ROSPATENT requesting granting legal protection to Georgian appellations. The exclusive right on the above-mentioned appellations on the territory of the Russian Federation was granted to the National Wine Agency.
