
The WIPO First Online Roving Webinar on Services and Initiatives will Take Place on May 26
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) begins a series of online Roving Seminars, which aims to offer detailed information on WIPO services and initiatives to all stakeholders under the conditions of different measures of confinement and restrictions related to the COVID 19 pandemic. In the course of the webinar, WIPO experts will introduce the basic features of their respective services of the organization as well as the measures WIPO has adopted to address the COVID 19 pandemic. During 90 minutes participants of the webinar will be given an opportunity of interaction, receiving answers to specific questions and obtaining practical knowledge on the following issues:

Tsarapi - Sakpatenti Registered a New Appellation of Origin for Wine
“Tsarapi” was added to the register of appellations of origin in Georgia. The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti issued the certificate of registration for the new appellation of origin of Georgian wine in the name of N(N)IP Kardenakhi Wine, after the completion of relevant procedures.

The Next Director General of WIPO will be Mr. Daren Tang
Today, on May 8, 2020, during the 60th General Assembly of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the next Director General was appointed officially. From October 1, 2020, during the next 6 years, Mr. Daren Tang, who held Chief Executive Position at the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), prior to the appointment as Director General, will helm the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

International publication World Trademark Review article recognized, that Sakpatenti is one of the intellectual property offices worldwide which fully shifted its operations to teleworking and has not had any disruption in its activities.
