Sakpatenti is working on Introducing IP Pre-diagnostic Services
International IP expert Ms. Alison Orr delivers 2-day training course at Sakpatenti premises for centre staff members. The main topics of the session are IP commercialisation and management, identifying intangible assets of companies, challenges and ways of their overcoming. The objective of the event is to train Sakpatenti officials on performing IP pre-diagnostic services. The event is organized within the EU Georgia Intellectual Property (EUGIPP) Project.

Pupils of Gori Public School №8 Won in the Competition of Infographics Created on the Intellectual Property Theme
A competition “Be Innovative for a Better Future” was held within the week of activities dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day. One of the main conditions of the competition, which was fulfilled best of all by a team made up of pupils from Gori Public School №8, was to create an infographic with the content related to the World Intellectual Property Day theme. The ceremony of revealing and awarding the winner took place at Courtyard Marriott hotel on April 27.

Sakpatenti Celebrated the World Intellectual Property Day together with the GTU Students
An event dedicated to the World Intellectual Property Day took place at Sakpatenti as students of Faculty of Law of the Georgian Technical University (GTU) were hosted and handed over in an award ceremony the certificates of successful passing of the 20-hour course “On Intellectual Property”.

April 26 is the World Intellectual Property Day!
On April 26, 2022, by the decision of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), WIPO Members States, intellectual property policymakers worldwide unite around the slogan: “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”. This year, the World Intellectual Property Day campaign focuses on innovation and creativity led by the youth and their brilliant mind. Exactly, the combination of the untapped energy, innovative ideas, “we can do it” attitude, creative mindset of the youth and a vision of green technological development should support the transition of the world to a sustainable and better future.

This Year Conference “Georgia Against Counterfeiting” will be Held with CLDP Support
The dangers posed by counterfeit goods for health and safety will be the main topic of discussion during the 6th International Conference “Georgia Against Counterfeiting”, to be held in July, in Batumi in the face to face mode. The conference will be organized by Sakpatenti with the support of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The meeting is aimed at deepening a dialogue between the private and public sectors, sharing international experience and facilitating effective cooperation between stakeholders in the direction of enforcement of rights.

Work Continues on HR Development Component within EUGIPP
Within the ISO 9001:2015 certification process, employees of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia – Sakpatenti participated in the training sessions on appraisal and promotion systems of human resources (HR) The aim of the training sessions is to strengthen the performance level of the Office and to introduce the high standards and efficient system. The certification process is carried out with the support of the EU Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP).
Georgian authorities are familiarizing with enforcement practices and draft proposals for legal amendments related to intellectual property rights
Representatives of Georgian Enforcement Authorities, of National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia-Sakpatenti and Mr. Kenneth Wright, IP enforcement expert involved in the EUGIPP, participated in the workshop conducted within the EU Georgia Intellectual Property Project (EUGIPP).

Outstanding Graduates of DL101GE will Take WIPO Advanced Course Free of Charge
Ms. Manana Pruidze, Acting Chairperson of Sakpatenti, congratulated ten outstanding students on successful completion of the autumn session 2021 of the General Course on Intellectual Property (DL101GE) and in an award ceremony handed to them the certificates and the main award – opportunity to pass the specialized, advanced course of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy free of charge.
GTU Students are Attending the Intellectual Property Course at Sakpatenti Training Centre
The senior-year students of the Faculty of Law of the Georgian Technical University (GTU) will get acquainted with the importance of the intellectual property and the corresponding legislation of the field. As of today the students will attend the course “On Intellectual Property” at Sakpatenti. The five-day course is organized by Sakpatenti Training Centre, and it is led by WIPO Academy Sakpatenti tutors. The course will last for one month.
