Mr. Soso Giorgadze Presented the Report on Sakpatenti’s Activity to the EU Integration Committee
Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, presented the report on the activity of Sakpatenti at the session of the EU Integration Committee of the Parliament of Georgia.
The Parliament Approved the Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design” for the Third Reading
The Parliament of Georgia approved for the third reading the Draft Law of Georgia “On Making Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design”, prepared with the authorship of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”. The Draft Law is aimed at refinement of mechanisms for legal protection of design in Georgia and full approximation with the legislation of the European Union.
Sakpatenti Celebrated Intellectual Property (IP) Examiners’ Professional Day Together with KIU Students
On November 11, the Professional Day of Intellectual Property (IP) Examiners was celebrated at the initiative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Sakpatenti joined WIPO’s initiative and participated in the project “Celebrating and Empowering IP Examiners”, initiated by Saudi Arabia within the framework of WIPO’s Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP).
Sakpatenti has Registered Appellation of Origin “Narchvi”
“Narchvi" is a cheese made from raw, unskimmed cow’s milk, and it is ripened in wooden boxes. Pressed cheese takes the shape of the box wherein it is placed. Its specification is defined by the traditional methods of making the product and thespecific geographical area – Zemo Svaneti, encompassing the Southern slopes of the Caucasus Mountains, and the upper reaches of the Enguri and Tskhenistskali rivers.
With the Support of Sakpatenti, the Traditional Chacha Festival was Held in Telavi
Chacha has been an integral part of Georgian wine culture for centuries and, as a product having distinctive features and characteristics, it is registered as a geographical indication at Sakpatenti. The Chacha Festival, held in Telavi, King Erekle square, is the best opportunity to maintain and demonstrate the uniqueness of this traditional Georgian drink. The annual Chacha celebration reveals the best specimens of Chacha from various regions, their wholesome and specific taste qualities, which facilitates encouragement of the activity of Chacha producing companies, farmers and peasants and popularization of the products made by them

Mr. Soso Giorgadze Delivered a Speech on the International Forum “Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence” Held in Shanghai
Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, visited the People’s Republic of China, where he participated in the 22nd Shanghai International IP Forum.
Sakpatenti Participated in the WIPO Training Session
Staff members of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti” participated in the training session of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The online training was delivered by the Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications Department, Brands and Designs Sector, WIPO, individually for Sakpatenti staff.
Sakpatenti is a Supporter of Gurjaani Wine Festival
The Gurjaani Wine Festival was held with the support of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia –“Sakpatenti”. The festival, held in the heart of Kakheti, is a tradition of tasting wine, which has its roots in ancient times and was revived 9 years ago. In Akhtala Park, 546 winemakers and entrepreneurs were gathered who presented in one area wines of different tastes and colours, both freshly fermented and aged for years.
Participation of Children from Dzegvi Rehabilitation Center in Sakpatenti Vintage has Become Traditional
The vintage took place in the vineyard planted on the territory of Sakpatenti head office in Mtskheta, in which Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, together with the staff members, participated in the grape picking process. The children from the Dzegvi Rehabilitation Center functioning at St. Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Monastery, their parents, and Ms. Nana Gogochuri, Head of the Center, engaged actively in the vintage. Father James, Priest of St. Philip Orthodox Church of Philadelphia, visiting the Dzegvi Center every year on a friendly mission, also took part in the harvest. The beneficiaries of the Center have participated in the vine celebration held at Sakpatenti for the second time, visited the exhibition area and made churchkhelas with their own hands
