A New Master’s Programme of the WIPO has been Introduced at the University of Budapest
Within the strategic cooperation between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office (HIPO), a new international English-language Master’s programme has been introduced at Corvinus University of Budapest. The programme will start from September 2026. It aims to develop practical skills in IP protection, licensing and commercialization, and to equip the next generation of IP professionals with interdisciplinary expertise in law, economics and business.

A Collection, “The Georgian of the Seventh Continent,” Was Published in Cooperation between Sakpatenti and the Art Palace of Georgia
The book “the Georgian of the Seventh Continent” was printed in the printing facility of the Intellectual Property Education and Training Center of Sakpatenti, which is based on the real and impressive story of a Georgian teenager Shalva Gigolashvili. The collection was published under the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia and the Art Palace of Georgia, on the initiative of Mr. Giorgi Kalandia, Director of the Union of Palaces and Museums of Georgia.

Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, hosted Ms. Diana Costa, Economic Chief of the Embassy of the United States of America, at the head office in Mtskheta.
The participants of the meeting spoke about the positive and fruitful cooperation between Sakpatenti and the U.S. Embassy over the years and discussed prospects for future cooperation. The Chairman of Sakpatenti focused attention on the results of the projects implemented with the participation of the U.S. side and expressed gratitude to the guests for their cooperation.
EPO Experts Shared with Sakpatenti Staff Practical Experience in the Field of Genetic Engineering
A two-day coaching was held at the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, aimed to deepen patent examination practice of inventions based on the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) technology and sharing international experience. The coaching was conducted in hybrid format. The session was attended by the staff members of the Chemistry-Medicine and Biology Division, Department of Inventions and New Varieties and Breeds, Sakpatenti.
Sakpatenti Introduces an Updated Electronic System for the Payment of Service Fees
Starting from March 2, an updated electronic system for payment of service fees will be launched at the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”. The new system offers users a faster, simpler and more efficient process of making payments. The office aims to develop user-oriented services and to simplify administrative procedures.
