Unique Chance for Game Developers – International Competition the Next Great IP Game Jam is Launched
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Global Game Jam (GGJ) have launched a joint international initiative - the Next Great IP Game Jam
The jam will be held in virtual format on October 9-27 of the current year. The project challenges videogame developers between the ages of 15 and 35. The initiative is aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of intellectual property protection and its practical use in the creative process.
Representatives from 17 Countries Completed the WIPO-SAKPATENTI Advanced Certificate Training Program on Geographical Indications at Sakpatenti Education and Training Center
At the Education and Training Center of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, representatives from 17 countries completed the International Advanced Certificate Training Program on Geographical Indications of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti. This year, Sakpatenti, in cooperation with WIPO, has implemented the ninth edition of the Program. It is noteworthy that,taking into account the knowledge and successful experience accumulated by Georgia in the field of geographical indications, Georgia is the only country where, by the decision of the WIPO Academy, this joint program on GIs is held annually.

By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, at public institutions a 3-month paid internship program has been launched. Within the initiative, Sakpatenti announced a competition on September 1. As a result of passing the competition stages, 3 graduates will pass an internship at Sakpatenti

Georgia has Advanced Again in the Ranking of the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2025
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has released the rankings of the Global Innovation Index 2025, in which Georgia has again advanced – it has improved the indicator of the previous year by one position and ranks 56th. The Global Innovation Index (GII) is a ranking of innovative capabilities and performance of world economies, which evaluates world economies according to their innovation capabilities. It is noteworthy that so far the Global Innovation Index covered economies of 133 countries, but this year this number has increased to 139.
A Three-Month Paid Internship Competition, Initiated by the Prime Minister, has been Announced at Sakpatenti

internship program has been launched at public institutions.
Applicants may
submit applications from today to September 10, 2025, through the website
administered by the Government Administration – [www.hr.gov.ge].

The National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti” has registered “Rachuli Lori” as a geographical indication on the basis of the application of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia
Students from 13 European countries completed intellectual property training at the Intellectual Property Education and Training Center of Sakpatenti.
Students from Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Greece, France, as well as from Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland successfully completed the intellectual property training at the Intellectual Property Education and Training Center of Sakpatenti.
