A Greening Campaign was Held on the Sakpatenti Territory
Greening on the surrounding territory of the Sakpatenti Head Office in Mtskheta and caring for the ecosystem have already become a tradition. In order to renew the green spaces within Sakpatenti yard and create a healthy environment for staff members, a number of new decorative plants and various types of evergreen seedlings have been added to the territory around the Sakpatenti building.

The 47th session of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is currently taking place in Geneva, Switzerland.
The First Stage of the Qualification Examination of Patent Attorneys is Underway
For the first time since 2014, the qualification examination of patent attorneys is held in Georgia. Up to 50 persons registered for participation in the qualification examination to obtain the status of a patent attorney. I Stage of the examination – testing – was held today, and II Stage, which covers written examination, will be held in 2 weeks.

Sakpatenti and “OriGIn – Georgia” Participated in the Fifth Regional Consultation on Geographical Indications (GIs) in Europe and Central Asia
To promote sustainability of geographical indication systems in the region, the Fifth Regional Consultation on Geographical Indications (GIs) in Europe and Central Asia was held online. Mr. Darejan Mtchedlidze, Head of the Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design, Sakpatenti, and Ms. Sophio Sanikidze, Director of “OriGIn – Georgia”, participated in the meeting.

The Parliament Approved the Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design” for the Third Reading
The Parliament of Georgia approved for the third reading the Draft Law of Georgia “On Making Amendments to the Law of Georgia “On Design”, prepared with the authorship of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”. The Draft Law is aimed at refinement of mechanisms for legal protection of design in Georgia and full approximation with the legislation of the European Union.
Sakpatenti Celebrated Intellectual Property (IP) Examiners’ Professional Day Together with KIU Students
On November 11, the Professional Day of Intellectual Property (IP) Examiners was celebrated at the initiative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Sakpatenti joined WIPO’s initiative and participated in the project “Celebrating and Empowering IP Examiners”, initiated by Saudi Arabia within the framework of WIPO’s Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP).
