On the Occasion of Georgian National Wine Day, Seedlings of the “Chinuri Khaliani” Grape Variety Were Planted at Sakpatenti
The Chairman of Sakpatenti, together with the staff, planted seedlings of the “Chinuri Khaliani” grape variety in the vineyard located at Sakpatenti premises in Mtskheta. In this small area, 33 Georgian grape varieties are already growing, while the care, cultivation, and harvesting of the vineyard have become a tradition at Sakpatenti over the years
Sakpatenti Hosted Students of the Faculty of Power Engineering of the Georgian Technical University
Students of the Bachelor’s Program “Engineering Management” of the Faculty of Power Engineering, Georgian Technical University, visited Sakpatenti head office within a study visit. At Sakpatenti, the students got acquainted with the current works in the field of trademarks, geographical indications and design, as well as inventions and new varieties and breeds.
The International Conference on Design Protection is Over
The joint international conference on design protection, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti, is over. The conference brought together sectoral specialists from 14 European countries, high-ranking guests from WIPO, representatives of the Government of Georgia, and the private sector. Professors of the Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, as well as well-known Georgian and foreign designers, also participated in the event.

Within the Joint International Conference of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti, an Exhibition of Georgian Designers is Held
An International Conference on design protection is being held in Tbilisi, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti, in which representatives from 14 European countries are participating.
Within the Conference, an exhibition of works of Georgian designers is being held, where Georgian brands such as “Avtandil”, “Eshvi”, “Dalood” and “Samoseli Pirveli” are presented. The exposition also unites Georgian traditional clothing and examples of jewelry from the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the Art Palace of Georgia – Museum of Culture History.

An International Conference of the Central European and Baltic States and Mediterranean Countries, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Sakpatenti, is held in Tbilisi, at the Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel. The participants of the Conference discuss the role of design, one of the most important intellectual property subject-matters in modern economy, as well as important aspects of the Riyadh Design Law Treaty (RDLT) and the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs. The Conference brings together 14 European states (the Czech Republic, Poland, Albania, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Georgia). The event also features high-ranking guests from the WIPO, specially invited Professor from the University of Cambridge, and well-known Georgian and foreign designers.
Free Online Courses of the European Patent Office (EPO) Now Available in Georgia
As a result of the successful cooperation between the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – Sakpatenti and the European Patent Office (EPO), a selection of self-paced online courses developed by the EPO Academy are now available on Sakpatenti’s official website.
Panel Discussions Held Within the International Conference on Intellectual Property in Tbilisi
The second part of the
international conference, “From Research to
Impact: The Role of Patents in Technology Transfer,” organized by Sakpatenti, was devoted to panel discussions, bringing
together leading experts from relevant fields, as well as leaders from academic
and institutional sectors. The discussions were structured around two main
thematic areas.

Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, together with Mr. António Campinos, President of the European Patent Office (EPO), visited the biotechnology company “Biochimpharm”. Within the visit, the delegation observed the technological processes underway at the enterprise. Mr. Rati Golijashvili, Managing Partner of “Biochimpharm", informed the visitors about the organization of the production and quality management mechanisms.
