
The Second Stage of the Training of Trainers (ToT) Program Organized by the WIPO Academy Was Completed Successfully at Sakpatenti
The Training of Trainers (ToT) Program, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy was implemented successfully at the head office of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti” in Mtskheta.

In the Ranking of the Global Innovation Index 2024 Georgia has Advanced by 8 Positions
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has published the rankings of the Global Innovation Index 2024, in which Georgia as compared with the indicator of the previous year (65th place) has moved up by 8 positions and ranks 57th among the top 60 countries. The Global Innovation Index (GII) is a ranking of innovative capabilities and performance of world economies, which evaluates 133 world economies according to their innovation capabilities. For the purposes of research, countries are evaluated according to different criteria, including evaluation of such significant areas as: as Institutions, Human capital and research, Investment and infrastructure, as well as Creative outputs, Knowledge creation and diffusion. The Index is envisioned to capture a complete picture of innovation, it comprises around 80 indicators, including measures on the political environment, education, infrastructure and knowledge creation.

Sakpatenti Representatives Participated in the Event on Occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO)
Ms. Meri Macharashvili, Head of Department of Inventions and New Varieties and Breeds, and Ms. Darejan Mchedlidze, Head, Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design, Sakpatenti, participated in the joint seminar: “30 Years of Incentivising Innovation”, organized on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO). The event was held at the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante, Spain.

Sakpatenti Participated in the Forum Organized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration
The 8th Silk Road International Exposition (SRIE) opened and the Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation Between East and West China was held in Xi'an, China. The event was organized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Shaanxi Intellectual Property Office.

Participation of Children from Dzegvi Rehabilitation Center in Sakpatenti Vintage will Become Traditional
The vintage took place in the vineyard planted on the territory of Sakpatenti head office in Mtskheta. Mr. Soso Giorgadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, actively participated in the grape picking process, together with the staff members. Mr. David Nozadze, State Trustee in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region, Mr. Dimitri Zurabishvili, Mayor of Mtskheta Municipality, and Mr. Dimitri Khundadze, Member of the Parliamentary Majority, also took part in the vine festival. In addition, Sakpatenti guests from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) –trainers of the Academy and international experts – engaged actively in the vintage.

Georgia Joined the Marrakesh Treaty
According to the resolution of the Parliament of Georgia of September 17, 2024, Georgia joined the “Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled” of June 27, 2013 (hereinafter – the Marrakesh Treaty).

The International Master’s Program in Intellectual Property is Planned to be Introduced for the First Time in Georgia

With the support of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia – “Sakpatenti”, 2 graduates of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University will pass internship at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante.

Sakpatenti is a Supporter of the Celebration of New Grape Harvest - “Stveli”
To mark the beginning of the grape harvest in Georgia, the new grape harvest celebration - “Stveli” was held in Telavi. The festival is aimed to popularize Georgian wine products on the local market, in particular, wines of geographical indications and appellations of origin, made from Georgian grapes, and to raise their consumer culture.
